More from the seller: Don, My dad has a thing for VW Jetta diesels. He has three, a 95, 98 and 04. He just traded his good running '98 for an '01 jetta diesel with a broken rod. I also have four cars so I know what you mean!
You would need a trailer for this. I had never actually got it on the road. When I purchased it, the previous owner had it and was going to use it for parts for his other two similar Benz's. I purchased it, my dad and I did some work to the carbs, brakes, etc. It is currently not idling well, but did when I had it tuned prior to winter. The main concern with the vehicle is that it would go into gear fine and move for the first minute or so, and after that, any load on it would cause it to die. I fixed a bunch of vacuum leaks, the biggest being the loose intake manifold. I am going to school full time, working full time, do other side jobs, and am currently trying to sell my home so I am just out of time. I am selling this and my '76 F150 to downsize a little. Everyone that has seen the car has complimented its looks, I just wish I had time to keep troubleshooting the engine!
