Wow, I wasn't aware that you had a storm approaching. Good to see that
it remained below hurricane status -- and Florida always needs rain,
doesn't it? ;-) It seems like they're always short of water further south.

What might be the things to look out for with something like this [other
than a steep purchase price]? My diesel mechanic son is in Columbia and
could check it out for me.
That is pricey, all right, and still hasn't met reserve at $5100. Looks
like a nice original specimen (although I have zero experience with
W116s). Climate-control servos have a bad rep....I assume this one would
be so equipped, but again, I don't know for sure. Then there's the
low-miles issue...are they GOOD miles, or BAD miles?
By the way, I see that Performance Products offers a solid-state
replacement unit for the servo. It's expensive at $600, but may be a
good option for a car that's likely to be in the garage for a long time.
I wonder if anybody has given it a try.
