I need to replace our people mover 1992 Pontiac Transport van. (Only has 178k miles, but it's getting tired for my beleagured wife.) We need seating for 6 people and it would be nice if it could tow our popup camper (about 2200 lbs loaded). So we're looking at Chevy Trailblazers, etc. I got to wondering, how hard would it be to swap out their inline 4.2l 6 and drop in a 2.7l turbo diesel from MB? I realize this is completely pie in the sky, but it's a combo that I could live with!
