I didn't think about hinging forward, of course if the rear seat is not
accessible then that may lessen the mischief that the boy child can get
into but not much, I think

Indeed, if you want access to the back seat.
It might be possible to put the soft parts from another 123 seat on the
coupe front seat framework. Hopefully a voice of experience can chime in
here.
