Mike - The reason I asked is that there is a "fix" for the one with the stripped threads. As I recall it requires you to cut off the stripped stub, drill and tap it for a fitting. Not sure where you get the fitting but I think it is the fitting that screws into the oil filter canister on the other end of the hose. You might check the archives to see if you can find a write-up on it.
