Anybody charging 40 bucks for an oil change is making no money. For
example, local Mobil 1 0W40 retails locally for $6.99 (I just bought 20 quarts
on
sale for $5.30 which is the lowest price for years) and 15/50 from Walmart
for the usual 23 bucks for a five quart jug. And then there is the filter
(fleece in my car) which might $7 or more. Or less. Plus labor, disposal fees,
shop supplies etc.

So my oil-change-by-Topsider just yesterday cost me about $50 and no labor
charge. My MB dealer probably gets twice that.
