But, I do know that service ceiling is defined as the point where rate of climb has dropped to 100 ft. per min. For example, my former favorite traveling airplane's service ceiling was 28,500 feet but that model has been coaxed to above 40,000 feet. Just to do it, one assumes, and damned dangerous.
