Its art I think... We were at a festival the other day where a welder had made a saturn (the planet I mean) like object out of thousands (tens of thousands?) of small metal objects. Stuff like spoons and gears and nails and railroad spikes and shovels and whatnot... Pretty neat, from a distance it looked solid, up close there were tons of holes between the items.
