Sad to hear of SotB falling down. Last time I was there was early '04. It was 
pretty seedy but worth a laugh. My wife and I went up in the hat tower...

I lucked out, my wife is totally into silly little roadside attractions like 
that... We've done 2 different Ripley's odditoriums, played mini-golf all along 
95 through Florida etc...

I do highly recommend getting a used copy of 'Roadside America', a very
funny arm chair tour of the tourist traps -err- attractions found in the
U.S. of A.

My wife refused to exit the car during the one trip I managed to
convince her it (South of the Border) was worth seeing.  All my
recommendations for roadside attractions are now viewed with suspicion.
Once you've read a few of the corny billboards, you'll know all you need
to know about that place...
