What is the hack for hackintosh? I finally have mine up and running
on all cylinders but the nutflix thing just will not play well.

Meanwhile, the real Macs in the basement languish, though I did get

streaming server, by the way; any desire for an AppleTV is long gone.

It's a Netflix issue. I've been watching the Netflix/mac situation
closely, as I have considered buying an AppleTV. Until content
other than
iTunes is available for purchase/download, I'm not interested.
Netflix seems to have ported some nice apps for the game consoles,
but
their PC apps have been less than stellar from what I've heard.

is the bigger idiot in this exercise, Netflix or Apple (not
me) but it was a PITA. I did not go back to
the original user profile to see if by doing the download in
the new user "took" in the original user (it was just
loading a plug-in to FF and I guess Safari, nothing very
exotic). So 2 hours of screwing around with something
about mac's peculiarities finally got me to be able to see a
netflix movie at midnight by which time it was time to go to
bed.
"They are so easy" "Windows is abysmal" (OK, that is
true, but I can't see where mac is particularly better,
especially on some simple aspect like loading a plug-in in a
browser) THough I will admit that plugging it into the
Samsung LCD TV with a DVI<->HDMI cable took just a few
minutes of fooling with output resolutions to get a half
decent pic on the TV, which is what we wanted to watch a
movie on.
