What kind is that? I was thinking to get one for my bike, but the bike-specific Garmins are muy spendy.

Here are the answers:

1. Garmin

2. Garmin

3. Garmin

Had a handheld for years that I used for backpacking. Now it rides on my bike
in a cradle. Topo and surface street maps, whichever I choose.

When I was doing work for an "OGS" (other government agency) back in the day,
they worked with Garmins.

I guess that this is probably as
dangerous as a oil thread....

Daughter needs a gps that talks. I don't like
em... so I have not studied up. What is the
current wisdom of this groups about the GPS wars?

Here are the parameters:

1. She will probably be switching cars,
So a Catheyesque Becker transplant is probably not
feasible.
Having to plug cord into a Cig lighter is
undesirable.

2. She wants one that talks

3. She will be primarily NOT in major metro areas.
(so maps that are accurate in rural/less populous areas are
needed)

She can get an app for her phone, but good ol
CanYaHearMeNow wants an additional $60 a month to be able to
use the gps app. And we thought MaBell was hard to get
along with!
