You might want to take off the inner door panel and look to see how it is attached to the door, from the inside. Might be easier to push something out/off from inside?

Howdy -
Our '91 300D (W124) has plastic (?) exterior door panels which do an amazing job at fending off rust and dents/dings.

I have a small spot of rust just above one of the panels (the panel on the L rear door) and don't want to break anything removing the panel. I need to take the panel off to make sure I get all the rust.

The WSM doesn't do a good job describing the removal of the panels. There are screws at the front and rear of the door and I *think* the center part of the panel snaps onto plastic things on the door. I'd like to buy some new plastic keepers in case I break one or more of them.

Anyone know how to remove those panels? Is it likely I'll break the holders? I'm off to look at the parts diagram & will hopefully find pn's.

Thanks!
