They will really go. I was coming back to Winnipeg from the lake a number of years ago and some fool driving one of those was passing everything. We were on the 2 lane stretch between Kenora and Falcon Lake and it is all hills and curves. On busy weekends this is often a freight train of cars as far at the eye can see ahead and behind at any straight stretch. Usually going east on Friday and the same folks going west on Sunday.He was passing multiple vehicles at a time and forcing his way back in at the last moment. I honestly expected him to be in the ditch or plastered on the front of some other poor soul coming our way. He would pull out in a puff of blue smoke and go as far as he dared and duck back in and then pull out again as soon as possible and do it all over again. He appeared to have some skill but he should have been stopped and shot on the spot for the reckless manner in which he treated the other folks on the road. If that poor car had failed at any point along the way, he might not have had the time to get out of the way.
I would guess the one he was driving was not an automatic.
