Laura was about 200-250yds from the parking spot in front of the house
so she coasted in. When the car lost power steering assist and
simultaneously turned the odometer red ans displayed "battery charge"
in it's place, she started keeping a really close eye on the temp
gauge...
Anyhow it turns out that the alternator has a freewheel in it; it
siezed and failed. It was probably fine with the lamed tensioner shock
that was on there, but the new one was stiff enough to knock it off.
