Just be a bit careful if the trailer is galvanized. The fumes can make you ill.

Yup, and the tilt mechanism on mine is pretty simple, two C channel pieces with 
3 bolts. Just need to take off the
middle piece of decking to get at it...

Trailers are an _excellent_ place to learn to use your new welder!
The metal is heavy, things are exposed, and generally the quality
of workmanship required is not high.  (Cosmetically, that is.)
