Use 5/8 inch OD tube inside just the TOP of dipstick tube, and the entire
inside diameter of the dipstick tube is used to carry oil. Have engine at
operating temp; oil evacs very fast. Mine's finished before I can remove
the old filter and slip a new in. No, I don't need any more time for a
beer - 'never had one; 'don't need to start now.

Got my Topsider out this afternoon and found the pump no longer worked.
But I had a old yard sprayer and a shopvac ;-) Viola - my oil change
sucks again.
I do need to find some combinations of tubing/hose that won't restrict the
flow so much. It took some time but I finally got it all out.
Thanks for all the comments & suggestions!

Yes, that is how I do it-there is a tube on the electric oil sucker that
I
borrow that is smaller than ID of dipstick tube and goes all the way to
bottom. My old topsider was that we way too-sort of like your oil test
tube, Larry.

Or you can get a smaller tube to just stick all the way down into the
crankcase, whichever works for you.
I think after 4 hrs I might need to find another partner...forget the
medical care.

I must have had a different hose last oil change - it fit snugly so
that must have been the case.

Dipstick tubes on my 123's, 124 and 126 are identical - top inch and
a half or so flares to about 5/8 inch (about 16 mm) inside dia; no
rubber or anything else inside 'em. 5/8 inch OD of my evac tube fits
a bit loosely in the dipstick tube; coupla wraps of duct tape around
the evac tube make it fit snuggly, or I just push it down against the
slightly smaller dia. inside the dipstick tube at bottom of the
flared area for a snug fit without the tape.

Hi All -
I went to attach my vacuum tank to my dipstick tube and
discovered the hose no longer fit snugly into the tube.
Is there supposed be a hose or rubber bushing inside the top of
the tube? Say 1/2" to 2" down into the tube? As it is, my Vacuum
sucker will not fit snugly enough to seal the vacuum hose. The
dipstick seems to fit snugly.. I didn't see anything on
EPC.....other than the dipstick and tube of course.
Hopefully it didn't crumble and end in the crankcase.
Thanks
