That's interesting. I'd like to know the story behind it. Did somebody buy a wrecked 500E and a 300E with a nice body but bad engine, and swap things across? I don't think the engine transplant would be that complicated, but the suspension is definitely not just a bolt-on, since as I understand it Porsche made major modifications to the W124 body to accommodate the new suspension, beefier rear diff, wider wheels, etc. of the 500E. Considering you can get a real 500E for about twice what the CL poster's asking, and have a car with a "purebred" pedigree that's likely to appreciate, there doesn't seem much point to me. (There was a guy on the PeachParts forum trying to sell a Euro 500E---manual climate control!---for the better part of two years for $10K.) Better yet, buy a 400E/E420, which are really undervalued and underappreciated cars with all the power you can reasonably use on the street. A bit lacking in the tire and brake department, but those are easy swaps compared to an engine.
