I think for my generation Dr. Who is the definition of British TV...

The new show looks really amazing, you can see a much bigger budget but I'm all 
about Tom Baker. I've actually got some MP3s of him reading some Dr. Who books.

Okay so now that I think of it there are quite a few others I remember from my 
childhood:
All Creatures Great and Small
Red Dwarf
Are you Being Served
Jeeves and Wooster

I've never had opportunity to get into Black Adder although I hear good 
things...

Heh.   Like Dr. Who is the epitome of British TV. 

But whether it is or not, I certainly enjoyed the show.
