PLENTY of room in a 300TDt...you stow away the 3rd  row and the second row. Not 
voice of experience, but was thinking that  you could easily fit two sleeping 
bags back there for a hunting  trip...roof rack for the deer. Perfect!

so the voltage regulator is probably bad
