Sprinters are interesting, but models in the US are really too large,
and are really expensive, New passenger models seem to be in the
$60k to 70k range. I did see a nice low mile sprinter one ton
flatbed go on fleabay for around $10k. If I really had a use for a
flatbed, I'd have made a run for it.
The cargo vans are interesting, but SWMBO won't agree to anything
without windows.
Whats wrong with a Sprinter?
I saw one the other day and noticed that at idle it had a quietly
pleasant klatta but when he pulled away that noise kind of
disappeared. When moving there was a barely noticable turbo whistle
but no real sign of it being a diesel.

If I were willing to spend $500 on a vacuum, i'd put in central, no contest.
Kinda like the question I ask anytime I start to look at a new
vehicle. "How much Mercedes will the same money buy me? Except for
the van, I always end up with the MB as a better value when safety,
parts availability and such are considered. I have not found a
practical MB replacement for the van.
(came real close in 2006 when the 2007 caravan was supposed to get
the Bluetec Diesel.)
In the meantime, my old electrolux and hoovers work well.
