RV travel is quite fun! My parents and I used to travel before their helt issues made it really difficult. It started with an 11' cabover camper on a 1994.5 Ford F350 PSD. That one averaged 11MPG. The Jamboree 454 Chevy powered 31' class C that replaced it was only good for about 7MPG, but it had much more room and comfort, and it could tow an easily driveable Jeep behind it. Then, it was a 35' Residency class A with a 460 Ford, similar mileage with a lot more room. The 35' Wilderness 5th wheel and '99 Ford PSD combo did very well and averaged 10MPG. Mama couldn't back that one up too well, so we got out of RV's for a few years until 2003 when we bought the current ride, a 31' class C Winnebago Minnie. The 6.8L Ford V10 is a powerhouse, but if you keep your foot in it, it will put your feet into the poorhouse! When cruising at 60MPH, it did very well on gas averaging 9MPG towing the PT Cruiser. It has no problem keeping up with traffic. These days, it just sits, as our travel trailer does, in the driveway. Hopefully, it will have a new owner soon. If only I could drive!
