Diesel without electronic engine controls, etc., til it's out of fuel or some other malfunction makes it quit. Engine/car doesn't NEED ANY electricity to keep going - no radio, starter, wipers, lights (incl. brake lights), etc. Keep refueling it while running, it'll keep running til something else makes it quit - could be several weeks and many kmi.
BTW, in Greenland in '78, my AF '77 Ford F250 Crewcab pickup (not diesel) ran once for 2 weeks without being cut off. Lack of electricity, though, was not a factor. Ambient temp. was -55F. Vehicle was base alternate/emergency command post. Wilton
