Thanks, Douglas. Couldn't find an Acronis download that was free for more
than 30 days. After that it costs about $50. Do you know of one?

I have used Acronis (Free version) several times and seems fine.

Subject: [MBZ] OT: Backup software needed

Can someone suggest a free disk cloning/imaging software program that's
idiot-proof/plug-n-play,
that only has to be loaded in a computer and an external drive and it does
its thing without
getting into a lot of technicalities?

This would be for a laptop/ running Windows XP Home that doesn't have a copy
of Windows Backup. (Couldn't find a download for Windows XP Backup).

Someone on another list suggested Clonezilla. What do you think?

Thanks,
Gerry Archer
