If you have an old turntable, you can use Audacity to record the LPs, then save them in whatever format you want) and do some cleanup of the pops and scratches and such. I have done that with a lot of old vinyl, they sound OK for just entertaining listening.

We had a discussion about mp3s etc a while back. On some of these outfits you can download them from, such as itunes, rhapsody etc, I have found some old stuff from the 60's for example that I have the original albums of, and some of them I also have CD's of somewhere from later. Anyway, I am sampling some of these online and I swear some of these are simply old LP;s that they converted to mp3 complete with scratches etc. Some of them are sold bad they even skip. How the heck can the sell this stuff? You would think they would use the original master tapes or something like that.
