Sounds about right.
A friend has bought 2 motorhomes in 2 years, both from down south -
North or South Carolina and Florida if I recall.
The first was similar to what you describe. 454 Chevy. He drove it home
to Winnipeg without much trouble except for some alternator issues.
They used it last summer and decided it was a good addition to the
family toys.
So, this year he bought another one. Still looking to sell the first
one. That big gas V8 probably scares most folks away.
The new one, is a 42 footer with a 8 point something liter Cummins
diesel pusher.
He drove it home from down south in December or January and said it did
much better on fuel.
If you plan to travel with one, buy a diesel!
