Went to see "RENT" (one of my "daughters" was dancing in the Maureen Tango
number). There was a preview for some inane movie with kevin Costner and
Jennifer Aniston. Kevin was driving some 108 (I think) that was much hotter
than Jennifer. I'm thinking it was a 280 SE convertible. Anyone else see it?

We sure will help! I love sitting here and typing -- "heat it for five
mote minutes with that torch, and add four feet to the cheater pipe" !

My first Mercedes, a '70 200D manny, had an electric heater in the
heater hose. If you plugged it in before going to bed, the car would
start in the morning at least to zero F. It had some sort of pumping
action to circulate the water. You had to be sure that the heater
controls were open. If tyou left the defrost on, it would keep the
bottom of the windshield clear of frost (but not ice and snow). The
proper block heaters are more efficient, but the other did work if you
left it on long enough. I think the heater hose on the 615 engine was
5/8", not that that helps you any, but you asked for a size -- --
