Generally, this goes before a signature.  And it's good 'cause
it cuts out the clutter from the list.  It's not so good because
there is no context.

Either.  They are connected together with a big cable. The
battery will attempt to smooth out the irregular waveform, but
it's too slow to have much effect.

It also becomes more obvious when there is load on the
alternator - so turn on the lights and the blower fan.
