Wow!  Wouldn't that suck if the problem was just the wrong cable/tranny?

Many of us have been in that place at one time or another.....

I wonder.  The shift control cable on the diesel works "backwards" on the 603 
-- fully extended at idle and retracts into the housing with opening pedal, not 
the other way 'round which is the usual.

Might think it's at full throttle all the time....
