I was thinking of draining, flushing, and refilling the cooling system as a way to start the check. I haven't noticed any coolant leaking anywhere.
This doesn't give me much comfort, "A blown head gasket in a diesel can take weeks or even months to diagnose in the early stages.". Yeehaw....I'm in for a ride.
