20 years ago is only 1991-1992 (it being nearly 2012 and all), theres loads of
tech companies still around although many are not doing what they were doing
back then.

Texas Instruments - I still have my TI99/4A
HP - 1939
Dell - 1984
AGFA - Made my scanner, figure that counts
Samsung - Made my monitor
Epson - Made my printer
Kodak - Made my digital camera
Motorola - Made my phone
Sony - Made the stack of DV tapes on my desk and the cameras that shot them
JVC - Made my VCR
Magnavox - Made my DVD player
Pioneer - Made my Tuner/amp

But yeah 20 years is forever in tech terms.

Speaking of which...
There are probably very few tech firms today that were also here 20 years ago.
The story was that facebook will be having their privacy policy
audited twice each year for the next 20 years.
In tech, 20 years is the same as eternity, yet MS is still here. Are
there any others?
Apple is still here, Autodesk too, but many of the others have been
bought in to other companies from 20 years ago.
And CP/M is completely gone, no? - I used Epson CP/M before MS.
