I think on a 124 I'd be more inclined to agree with you, on a 201 I'd rather 
just drop the subframe and get it over with. Theres not much space in there and 
the thought of dropping the subframe a couple times in a year when I find out 
that one that looked good has failed just doesn't appeal to me.

As far as changing one link at a time or doing the whole thing all at once,
I think it depends on the condition of the rear suspension.  If prior to
you, some links had already been replaced, why replace them all ?  If on
the other hand, its original, go ahead.
