Glad to accommodate you Rick, Randy. Luckily for me, my company medical plan
pays 90% for aids. For about 4 months now I have had a pair of Lyric aids in
my ears. These are really neat aids as they stay in your ear canals for
months till the batteries die. When they die they just swap them out with
new ones. Because of that you don't buy them, instead you have a
"subscription" service. You pay by the year, about $4500, and they replace
them as often as you need. They cannot be seen even if someone in looking
right at your ears. It took me about a month and a half to really get used
to them completely and now I hardly ever even think of them being there. You
can adjust the volume or turn them off and on with a magnet. It is
especially good for what I need right now as we are doing a life test on a
spacecraft sensor at work 24/7 for about 3 months and I have to work the
graveyard shift some days. After I get off my shift I have to sleep during
the day but I can simply turn then completely off and they work like very
effective ear plugs. Another benefit is that when I am wearing them my
tinnitus is 95% gone. Wish they were not so expensive as I will likely
retire in a couple of years and I'm not sure if I can still afford the
yearly expense when I retire.
