Halon is very very dangerous because it is very heavy, and if you
breath any in, it will sit in your lungs and not come back out. You
can very easily suffocate while still breathing.
It also makes lots of nice clean phosgene gas when it contacts fire.
I get to wear a phosgene badge at work if I go over to the resin plant
lab, it's nasty stuff. Killed a couple people on plant site over the
years.
