That is probably the single-wire stuff to use for pulling through conduit (and it is rated higher temp I believe). I have rolls of that too in multiple colors, 12g stranded actually. I think that is labeled THHN. I found a whole load of almost full rolls in a dumpster on the Rice U campus where they were building a new gym facility. I probably have 10 or 15 rolls, many nearly full, of a whole bunch of colors.

The multi-conductor stuff is just regular plastic shielding as it has the outside "binding" insulation too.
