Mitch is correct. The seller joined that web forum about 6 years ago, but originally posted that car for sale about a year and a half ago. Just recently he dropped the price drastically because he's moving, the car isn't assembled, and he doesn't want to take it with him. Skip to page 2 for the current details.
IIRC that thing cost somewhere around $180k when new. I forget exactly - I do recall reading the original C&D or R&T article back in the late 1980's as a zit faced high schooler. The author at the time was more than a little impressed with the performance. It's still competitive with many of today's super-sedans, believe it or not... even 20 years later, there just aren't many 4-doors capable of low 13's in the quarter mile! (And that was with an old-technology, tweaked M117 engine.) :-) +dm > ------------------------------ > Date: Fri, 16 Dec 2005 19:10:34 -0500 > From: Mitch Haley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [MBZ] AMG Hammer for sale, cheep cheep > > Michael Baker wrote: > > > > Your link is 6 years old! > > > > I thought it was about 19 months old. > Anyway, if you go to page two, the owner > dropped the price to $5000 this week, and > is listing it on eBay tomorrow if it isn't > sold.
