When you boot up the lappy do you feel any air coming from the exhaust port?
If not then the fan is clog.
I replaced the fan in a HP lappy with the same processor a few weeks ago.
Unit would power up then shut down after a min or two. Out came the canned air. Blew out the fan intake ans exhaust. Fired it back up and same problem. Removed the case and found the exhaust port has about 3/8 inch of fuzz packed into it, cleaned it out and tested the fan. It was so clogged up it would barely turn. Ordered an new one and replaced it and the heat sink compound on the
processor. Customer very pleased.
