If you are using an alternative browser to IE, such as Firefox, use can use an 
add-on called "NoScript" which gives you, the user, ultimate control over what 
Java scripts run, or whether they run at all. I highly recommend it. If you use 
Chromium or Google Chrome, there is an add-on called "NotScript" which serves 
the same purpose.
