agreed on that!
after the stock one has proved to not meet your expectations, why put another one like it in? ;-)

I did not take into account that new cars are sold with garbage battery. No
need to have another garbage battery go in.

clay,

what was the warranty on the original battery? no matter how long *we*
think a good one should last, many original batteries are 3-year deals, and by
that figuring you got an extra 1-2 years out of it.

(i've had 2 cases where original 3-year batteries failed within 1 month of
their warranty date, one of them spewing its caustic contents all over the
engine compartment. after spending much of a weekend scrubbing an engine
compartment of a nearly new car with an acid neutralizing goop, i'd say that if
your had actually just gone dead, by comparison, you got off easy.)

Went to FLAPS to get bits for SWMBA korean car.

She took the car to the dealer for oil change yesterday and had already done
the 30k service a few months ago. Service dork comes up with a list of items
that need attention. Bunch of DIY items that they hoped to snag big $$$ for.
Thing that got me wound up was the battery. She has had the car for three
years, it was a dealer demonstrator when purchased. 2009 MY, made in 2008,
sold in 2010. Dork come out with the battery is dead and you have to pay to
get a new one. I call shenanigans. Thing has 30+k miles and the battery is
dead, not covered by warranty, and she has never allowed the battery to drain.

I concede that five years is a bit on the early side to die, but the thing
should last a bit longer in my book. Dealer got two years use out of the
battery and then passed on what may have been abused at that time, but will not
cover it. That is bad business to me. I think it should be worth keeping a
customer to swallow the $100 battery replacement.

ANYWAY, hit FLAPS to get the wipers, some washer fluid, and license plate
lamps. There on the shelf is a box of 2.5 gallons of Diesel Exhaust Fluid.
First thing that comes to my mind is Headlight fluid. Maybe this is a profit
center item for stupid customers. WTF? Turns out it is AdBlue. Donkey pee.
