The rodbenders are the 3.5L engines - 603.970 used from 1990-1991 in the 350SD & 350SDL (W126), and from 1992-1995 in the 300SD and S350. Yes, Mercedes stupidly badged the car 300SD even though it has a 350 engine. Thankfully they stopped that practice between 1994 and 2002, but have since returned to badge numbers that do NOT match engine displacement. I detest that practice... aaaargh...
