I tried the cruise on my 240D for the first time yesterday. I was
attempting to set it for 60mph. It caught hold and set at 57mph. Later, I
tried setting it for 65 and it settled in at 57. No matter where I try to
set it, it ends up at 57 mph. I've disengaged it with both the brake and
the stalk, I've attempted the accel-set feature (it accelerates but does
not hold at new speed...goes back to 57), it always settles out at 57. WTF?

That car must be from the era when the USA insisted the speed limits be 55 mph. You could speed a little bit and get away with it so MB set the cruise for 57 mph. They did not want you to get a ticket for speeding so they built that into the car.

Randy whose cruise on the 300D won't do that as the car was originally sold in Canada
