I still vote for a bad battery in the SDL. Starters are not trivial to
replace. How about if you swap batteries between the SDL and the D as a
diagnostic before you replace the starter?

Most FLAPS will do a free battery check. Oreally? Autozona, Advance
etc. Some of them will check starter current draw too.
