That looks familiar. I think it was a used car classic article with
an XJS, 928 (they said the multiplate clutch was expensive and
short-lived, buy the auto instead), and some BMW, probably the
635CSI. I remember being surprised at how close the estimated
engine rebuild cost on the SL was to the XJS and 928.
Reading it now, I've got to wonder about the lifespan of the
single row timing chain, it's worse than a Gilmer belt.
