Last I checked the Chicken wagon was also down with transmission issues. Is one
of them priority over the other?
Can he heap be put into summer service or would you switch to the Dodge?

It's my daily driver, and what we resorted to when we had a flat
(X5) we discovered on our way to dinner Saturday. It's driving OK,
but reverse is nearly gone. The tranny has been restored to
usability by a bottle of snake oil, but it's been telling me
in no uncertain terms that it wants a replacement. If you
floor it too hard it won't shift out of 1, but if you back
off it'll go to 3 and thereafter it's fine. 2 is basically
not there, though you can make it get into it using the shifter
and no throttle (going up), or punching the throttle (going down).
Weird.

I'm sure a valve body rebuild would fix it right up, except for
the reverse problem, which requires new clutches.

The secret sauce AC was working fine the other day when it
was pretty warm out. Last recharged nearly a year ago.
