Didn't you say that this _had_ been obstructed, and had been cleaned out by somebody? Over-aggressive cleaning, or perhaps a dirt-clogged and water-filled drain channel went through a freeze cycle? Your car's a bit young to exhibit aging rubber syndrome there.
