I appreciate the information since I am trying to replace my Toyota daily
driver beater with a slightly less beater vehicle and so I might need several
autocheck runs.

In the Fatwallet.com 'hot deals' forum, there was mucho speculation about the
provenance of that link. I clicked on it, my browser didn't attempt anything
obviously nasty, Malwarebytes was silent, and when I pasted in a VIN it gave me
what looked like an autocheck on that VIN. I pulled the VIN from an autotrader
ad so I have no way of knowing if it's an accurate autocheck.

Maybe I should try it again with a VIN from an ad that has a free autocheck and
compare the two results?

Mitch.
