The thing can't even make 29mpg, for crying out loud. After 120K miles and seven years in a '78 300D, I will say that the car is doggy, performance-wise, but the coupe body is attractive. One problem is headroom. When I bought my Milan Brown 4 door, there was a 300CD on the floor that was offered to me at less than the sedan because at the time semi-stylish coupes powered by diesel engines were saleproof. I sat in it and my head was against the headliner. In '79, the seats were lowered a bit. RLE/Seattle
