I wish. It is engineered in to the door latch mechanism and associated wiring harness. There is some really funky linkage it interacts with in order to tell the closing assist system when the door is ajar.
I have been a controls guy for many decades, and my area of expertise was in electromechanical controls, so I know microswitches. If there was a way I could use a stock or generic microswitch, believe me, I would. That's why I'm looking for a left hand door latch assembly from a W140. They all used the same microswitch. Just doing a cursory search shows that complete door latch assemblies are going for between $40 and $70 used in places like FleaBay and other online venues. A small price to pay compared to the cost of a new microswitch.
