Stopped and got a bottle of Power Service (white bottle) on the way home from work, put 16oz (it calls for 8oz per 25 gal of fuel) in the tank and cranked 'er. It started momentarily and died. Further cranking produced a few pops but nothing exciting.
Swapped the canister fuel filter, primed it with Power Service. Couple pops and now nothing, it cranks and cranks but no pops, its not even trying to start. The old fuel filter had normal looking fuel in it, no thickening or ice that I could see. On the way home I picked up a drop light with a 75w bulb, I've got that under the hood now with the battery charger, I don't want the battery to go flat and freeze. The engine is warm, radiator hoses are warm to the touch from the block heater being on all day. If its a fuel thing its got to be trouble in the tank. I'm going to let it warm up with the bulb for a little while, if it won't start after my next attempt I'll have it hauled to my Indy tomorrow. A night in his warm garage may make the difference. As may the sloshing around with the Power Service in the tank. -Curt _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
