Exactly.

While there is no problem with off topic posts per se, just as you would do in 
polite company one should avoid potentially inflammatory or controversial 
topics.  Coming from a family that was heavily invested in the political scene, 
it was always understood that there was a time and place for it, and there were 
places where it was not appropriate.

Sadly, political discourse has seemed to degenerate to a new low in the past 
few years.  Maybe it's the Internet, maybe it's a cultural thing, I don't know. 
 The anger and venom that seems to wend its way through just about any 
discussion between opposing viewpoints/opinions these days really troubles me.  
We don't want that on the list, or even on the fringes of it.  Best to leave it 
to Banned.

Just so my bona fides are understood, I ran several of the lists on Richarde's 
former mbz.org site, as well as a couple of private lists for the late Kathy 
Kennel.

I would also suggest that I am far from perfect, and if someone feels I have 
dealt with them unfairly or inappropriately I encourage you to contact me 
directly.  The virtual door is always open.
