This is a little off topic. There was a 1994 white volvo 850 turbo parked by the entrance to our daughter's apartment. It looked a bit abandoned and irritated her because she had to make her turn wide. I told her to find the owner, she did and he agreed to sell it to me for $100 (and had the title and key)! Supposedly it last ran in December and doesn't go in reverse.

I bought it yesterday for one C note. I pulled the battery and charged it overnite. MERCEDES CONTENT: Today my helper and i drove over there and with a little starting fluid and the hot battery, it started with a bit of effort. The engine was a couple of quarts low on oil ....car was for sure under maintained. It runs very smoothly. A/C compressor turns on but shuts right off ... low freon? I don't care. I drove it to my shop and it was nice, smooth and powerful. I think it has 150k miles but the odometer may not work .... the trip one didn't .... but i think it does have speedo.

Sure enough, it will only slightly TRY to move in reverse. Trans fluid is brownish, but it seems full ... it may have a bit of smell, but not burnt smell.

You can see it here on CL

what's it worth? I put $1100, hoping to get maybe $800?

WE GAVE IT A HALF ASS wash. The driver's windshield wiper didn't move, so i tightened that up and the wipers work.

It has a sun/moon glass electric roof that works very smoothly.

it's transverse turbo engine and FWD

It seems nice, but i don't want it.

I can drive it to the junkyard and probably collect 12 cents a pound .....
